Problem with bose system

I have 1993 Nissan Maxima GXE with bose system.

I have two main problems with my system.

1. The LCD display is not working at all. Although once in a bluemoon the display comes for two or three minutes but then again vanishes.

2. The radio used to work fine but lately its behaving wierd. If I start the car with radio on and start driving, after like two or three minutes, the radio starts breaking up. The voice keeps going on and off. But if that time I switch to the CD player, the CD plays just fine. So I think something is wrong with just the radio part in the system. I also noticed that whenever the radio sound goes on and off and starts breaking up, I can hear a slight electrical sparking kind of sound near the driver side fuse box. I am not sure if that sparking sound coming from fuse box or something under the steering.

I am wondering if anyone had similar problems and please point me to what could be going wrong and how to fix it.

Thanks.

send radio unit to this guys, factory car stereo repair, www.carstereohelp.com, for $140 they will fix all the problems in your unit, that clicking sound by the fuse box is actually a relay, but the probles is the clarion unit..

i have a 1993 and a 1991 GXE and both BOSE systems have been repaired by these guys.

i apologize for thread jacking, but i had a similar problem in my 96 bose unit and i cant create my own thread yet. i didnt want to get it repaired so im doing my whole car audio over. i have a dvd dash unit and am installing hertz energy components for the front, coaxials for the back. running a memphis belle 5 channel to power them with ~75w @ 4ohm and run a sub with ~600w rms @2ohm or 1100@ 1ohm. going to have a 5 farad alumapro cap. my questions are as follows: is 4awg wire going to be enough to handle the power and also will my alternator be able to handle it. i am also planning on upgrading to optima yellow top.

Personally I would look at upgrading it in the future as running two amps puts a big draw on the battery/alternator. I know because my system is a little more powerful in the main speakers (100 watts rms @ 4 ohms, Sub is the same level) as I am looking to upgrade mine in the future due to my lights flicker when the base hits hard.

But if you are able to run it and not have any power issues than it will be fine.
