Best Component System

Hey guy's ive been lookin arround and Im wondering if you can help me find a component system for my Maxima. Im tearing out the Bose! Crutfield says my front and rear speakers are 6 3/4".. I need it to atleast have 100 watts of RMS or more. Im sticking in a BIG 4 channel. Whats your opinion on the best component system? I really need your input! thanks!

The answer depends largely upon how deep your pockets are. There are plenty of good ones to choose from: JL Audio, Boston Acoustics, MBQuart; Crystal; Focal.. The list goes on.. Again it all depends on how much you're willing to spend. As far as what's best, take a listen for yourself. Some will swear by MBQ, while others by Bostons, etc.. trust your ears, go to a few mobile audio shops, bring a CD of music you like to listen to, and hear the speakers for yourself.

Remember when you go to the stereo shop to listen to reset all the EQ's to 0. And don't be fooled by one set of speakers, amp, HU, whatever haveing more output. Regardless of how they sound in the store they'll sound different in the car.

i agree, plus there could be any number of possibilities in the amp that you choose, and how clean it produces power.

I am pretty happy with them. The minute I feel like I want them to be more, I think that they do a pretty good job, and that there aren't too many out there that are clearer, offer better midbass, and just plain ROCK! I always feel that it depends on the type of music that you listen to also. Which I listen to Chevelle, Nickelback, Breaking Benjamin, Metallica, Oleander, White Zombie, Norah Jones, Creed, Garth, and so on. There will always be the ongoing discussion as to whether a person should go with components in the rear. I tried it with the Eclipse PointSource speakers, and you just couldnt hear them over the sub, and for $100 more I could get the same components in the front and in the rear. They are balanced enough, regardless of anyone's preconceived notions, they do not "throw off" the staging of the car.

The doors will hold bigger speakers no problem. I've got 7 inch Vifas in the doors and they have plenty of room.
As far as brands go, Here are a few:
Vifa
Scan Speak
Peerless
Dynaudio
They can be expensive, but they are well worth it.

sup man, i got infinity kappa components in the front and rear, and i don't think better sound could come from my car. Components are such a good investment, just buy a good 12'' sub and stick that in the trunk, and you are made. I love infinity, but im sure there's a bunch of **** that would sound just as good. It's all about perspective man. Good luck w/ your system, hope it turns out clutch. Peace.

Dynaudio, Lotus by ScanSpeak, Focal, Rainbow are the "best" money can buy. There are alot of great sounding sets though. JL sounds pretty darn good, as do Polk and Infinity. (Interesting to note is Vifa makes the drivers for Polk and Infinity, and you can buy them from www.partsexpress.com if you wanted to build your own set. trickiest part is building the right x-over)

The JL components sound GREAT. My friend has the 6.5 components (not sure which model) in his civic, and their SQ is incredible. They do acoustic guitar almost realistic. They also do almost everything else we ran through them very well. Not so good with rap though, the dirty vocal lines dont come out well since they dont give the speakers a chance to try. But who's looking for SQ on rap anyway? VIVA NWA!

AGHHHH!!! Are you sure that it sounds bad with rap? I mean it could be your HU, the amp you were running it off, or even if your panels were sound deadened... Ima go try some out today at ct... As if now, I like the JL's.. But i just need something that sounds good and has alot of sound (not really base) because i have 2 12"s with 2 1200 watt amps blasting thru my trunk. Im not worthy! Im not worthy!
