power anetnna question

Is there any way to extend the antenna mast with an aftermarket HU? I am using a Panasonic CQ-DFX983U HU and it has an antenna control lead. My first impression is this will raise the antenna, but I am unsure how to connect this to the stock antenna wiring.
Thanks,
Ted
P.S. I am very pleased with my new HU. Sounds great.

Yeah, the antenna lead is already pre-wired into the radio harness. If you use an aftermarket radio harness to connect your new stereo to the car, there is no need for splicing. The antenna lead in the car is also your remote turn on, to turn on your amps with your radio. As soon as you power your headunit, the antenna should raise automatically. Some headunits will only raise the antenna when the radio is switched on. In my opinion, I like this feature better. My Kenwood receiver does this!
