Tweeter problem.

I seem to keep blowing tweeters. I have 4 volt outputs on radio. My gains are set pretty low but when I get a new pair of tweeters i can't keep them playing longer than a day. Any suggestions what my problem could be. I put bass blockers on them also.

Bass blockers? You don't need those. The tweeters should be used with a crossover. The crossover blocks out the lower frequencies. Any frequency beyond its limit, will blow the tweeter. What are you running with? Are you running the tweeters seperately or with components?

Well I first started off with Kicker Resolution separates with x-overs. First time tweeters stopped working it was due to crossover diode burning out. Then I hooked the tweeters up parallel with the midrange. Worked for a little while then poof Resolution tweeters gone. Then I purchased a cheap set of tweeters and after a few minutes of medium play, poof gone. I'm going to check my wiring to ensure my wire is not shorting out. I don't want my new set of tweeters to go poof. Another thing is that my wire from amp or X-over to tweeter is about 15 ft in length with 16 gauge wire. Midrange works fine off of X-over, but only problem is tweeters.
