Mine had the same problem...was flickering for a bit, then went full off...I just took apart the dash, cleaned up a few connectors, and it works.
Worth your time to give that a shot.

i read on a thread a couple of weeks ago that, some dude had his friend take it apart, and he re-soldered some of the connections because they weren't soldered well. He said it cured his problem, but try cleanin some stuff like MADCHEF said before you whipout the soldering gun and totally melt the circuitboard

damn haha that's what i need to do

my screen flickers... but if i touch it or lightly tap it, it comes right back up. It's a loose connection in there somewhere...

my CD player is starting to go too... in the morning, it gives me "CD error" and when I finally get it to read the CD after the car has been runing for a while, it plays the first track all choppy but eventually cleans up.

time for aftermarket deck and one of redmax's LCD!

Mine did that in my 95.....just bang behind it down where the passengers legs are, or just to the right of the deck......hehe, it worked in mine everytime it went out.

Honestly, you'd think that you have to reconnect some wire or something, which would make the most sense (due to the flickering).

Then you take the thing out, realize that it's just one large circut board...and say to yourself "oh.....guess I'll just....put this thing back in then...yup"

haha, I must have hit my poor car so many times...my spot was on the lower right portion of the dash...well...it worked for a little while anyways. =)
