2K2 Non Bose tweeters wiring question

I am planing on adding an amp and installing new speakers in my 2K2 with stock Non-Bose stereo system. Are the tweeters wired directly to the head unit or are they split off at the front door speakers? I will be adding a Sony 4 channel amp from ebay that I got for $117 shipped. The list price for this amp is $199 at ciruit city so I hope its not a piece of garbage. Thanks in advance for any input you can provide. I don't want any surprises when installing the new speakers and hope someone can let me know how the stock tweeters are wired in.

so you are keeping the stock tweeters? If so I would not recommend wiring directly to the HU, first the stock tweets cannot handle anything passed 10 to 15 watts. Also you will need to put a high pass passive crossover or at least a cap inline with the tweets.

Thanks for the info, I was planning on installing the amp first and the speakers at a later date. I plan on splicing the amp into the factory wiring behing the Stock Non-bose head unit. Will the factory tweeters fry when I hook up and amp rated at 60watts per channel into the factory wiring? This is why I was curious tio know if the stock wiring goes to the door speaker first and then tapped off to the tweeter. Any input you have is greatly appreciated.

What kind of amp? If it is rated at a true 60 Watts RMS I would recommend you running your own wiring, I know it is very difficult to get it through the front door. If you do decide to go the route of tapping into the back of the HU, then that is all you will need to do.
