hatch vs rectangle

sorry, this is a newbie question, but i was wondering will there be a noticeable difference in sound if i got a hatch box ( different top depth and bottom depth) compared to a fully rectangular box with equal depths...its for a single 12 inch sub in a 4th gen maxima, TIA

i don't think there will be that much difference (if any). the hatch does angle the subs up just a little bit and technically it'll face more air than a rectangular box with the subs facing straight out. that could have an effect on the sound waves within the trunk. but that's just my opinion. let's see what others on here think.
