HELP!! Problems after HU install !!!
first of all, the scoche kit sucks!!!. No amount of trimming could make it look right so I just took it off. Looks pretty ghetto right now. I'll try the gxe or crutchfield kit. ANyways, I get out of the car and the beeping noise comes on. I check to see if the key is out and the lights are off and they are. The beeping keeps coming on whenever the driver door is open. Second, my trunk release on my keyfob doesnt work now. Any suggestions??

Well, if the beeping is only when the door is open, then it's safe to say the stereo has nothing to do with it. Most likely, the cylinder switch that tells the car the key is in the ignition is just stuck. This happened to me once in my Max. Just put the key in and out a few times and see if it frees it up. Probably just stuck.
For the keyfob, does it sound like it's trying to work? like does the trunk click but just not open? and does the driver door lever also not work to open the trunk? Because there is a switch back there that disables the trunk opener; when it is flipped you have to use the key to open the trunk, it won't open any other way. Also, try your other keyfob, just for grins. Might have broken the button somehow.
Lastly, I highly recommend the GXE dash trim. Best option of them all, worth every extra penny I paid. And I actually tried all 3 (crutchfield, scoche, gxe, in that order).

update: the black dash kit that they have on crutchfield fits 100 times better than the scoche. I'm not quite ready for the gxe kit though. I think an aluminum dash kit may be in order soon. Anyways, the ignition thing was stuck and that was easily fixed. As for the trunk, it magically started working this morning. I have no idea what was wrong with it. It's weird how everything went wrong at the same time when I was installing the HU (i also got a crack in my windshield that day from a pebble on the highway). I swear this car is bad luck. =)
