CD Changer Power Source

Does anybody have any suggestions of the best place to get 12 volt power for a trunk mounted cd changer?

Best and proper way to do it is to run a dedicated 12V with an inline fuse.

How many wires does the CD Changer have, what kind of Changer is it? You will definately want to hook it up to your remote power wire, but to properly do this you should do it with a Relay. So when your radio turns on it sends a signal to the relay then the relay switches on and sends power to the changer.

You couls also tap it off of your amp in the trunk if you have a BLOSE system.
Let me know how you want to do it and I will give you the procedure.

It is a pioneer CDX-P1280 and it's controlled by my pioneer HU by A IP-Bus cable. It just has three cables, the IP-Bus Cable, the ground lead and a 12v power lead with a fuse.

Does the 12V lead ask for a constant 12V or switched/ignition 12V?

If it is asking for constand 12V then just hook it up to your amp's constand go right on the terminal. This is incase you did not want to run another dedicated power wire from your battery.
