Steering wheel control's help!

Yesterday I installed a JVC deck in my car and now none of the left steering wheel controls work. I figured the ones for the radio wouldnt work without some kind of wireing, but the one I'm concerned about is the trip one (I think) that changes between the temp, mpg, dts and so on. I didn't think this would stop working just because I installed an aftermarket deck. Did I do something wrong or is this normal, and is there any way to get it working again? Please let me know how to take care of this if possible. Thanks

Tim

Your stock headunit controlled those things. You can get your audio control back with a device called PAC SWI-X
http://www.clubgpstore.com/itemview.asp?itemid=16 Club GP has it for $57 and Crutchfield is $69.

Do a search...there is some "brown" wire that has to be clipped to get the trip controls back.

there are 2 harnesses....each one has a brown wire with white stripe...i can only tell you that one of them is for the left speaker. the other brow/white is for the trip-meter. take that wire and ground it....that should activated your trip button. enjoy. you're welcome.
