Repairing Bose, no audio and LED

Regarding a Bose system with bad LED and often no audio issues on '95 Max. I'm looking into repairing the BOSE stereo myself. I understand there might be a way to modify the main power supply board. Has anyone done this and do you have directions? I already have the stereo out. I just need the modification instructions.

I'd rather not have to pay somebody to fix the darn thing, as I have the car up for sale. If I can't fix it myself, then it will be sold the way it is.

Thanks in advance for any assistance.
