Adding CD Changer to 2000 Bose Head Unit

I'm wanting to add a CD Changer to my 2000 SE Bose Head Unit. Dealer recommended that I not use the factory 6 disc changer and instead go with aftermarket. I have found that Alpine is compatible with Nissan Head unit, but needs an adapter. Alpine CD Changer CHMS-630. Anyone know where to get this adapter? Any other brands compatilbe with Bose factory unit? Thanks.

I personally didn't know that the Apline changer would work. If you want to go the aftermarket route the check with http://www.blitzsafe.com/ they make the adapters for OEM to aftermarket. I looked but only saw info on the Quest (which uses a Ford harness). There is another company the also specializes in this but I don't recall the name. As for locating one of these product I would check a local stereo shop (not Best Buy or Circuit City) to see if they have any info on would work. If you want to go with the OEM changer I would check http://www.courtesyparts.com/Merchan...de=B8183-2144U, they have it for $142. Hope that helps.

Crutchfield has an aftermarket unit that works with any factory radio that has the cd/changer button..... but is expensive.
