is there a need to re-wire?

Originally my 98 came with the bose system, right now I have a Blaupunkt HU in, and the stock bose speakers still in. I am going to be replacing the speakers and I am wondering why I would have to re-wire the original wiring. I know that it is a higher guage but does it really matter if I am not using an amp or anything? Thanks in advance.

Factory wiring is fine. If you ever amplify it, then you will want to rewire. But for now, don't bother.
