That is the normal life of the battery in mine. I think that even though LCD draws very little current it still takes more power than a normal remote. It is also sending a signal back and forth to the brain every few seconds. Normal alarm remotes do not.

Yeah the battery doesnt last too long in these remotes. I asked my installer about it and he said its normal.

Mine is mounted to the left of the steering wheel next to the dimmer switch. You can see it on the botton left in this picture:

Originally the LED was installed next to the shifter but since I have dashkit, I had to relocate mine. Now the LED is on the fusebox cover under the steering wheel.

Looks like the issues related to remote starter affect more people that I realized. I wish I was made aware of this potential problem before I got the remote start.

Warm car in cold winter vs. prolonging starter life

AnGe, what starter problems are there? Mine cranks once and it's good to go. As for the remote, I still have a full battery indicator *knocks on wood* and I had it installed on the 4th.

The starter was replaced and it's still not starting. I think you need to get something else checked out. Unfortunately I don't know what. Once we put the new starter in my car it started up perfectly

after i installed my remote start in january, i had to replace my starter but it's been fine ever since and has never ground on starting. I am assuming you have the antigrind feature on and the crank time to the barest minimum needed to start it (~.4s)
