Speaker size on 92 BOSE Max

Hey all,
What are the sizes on the front and rear speakers on a 92 Max? It came w/Bose, but I'm replacing everything and want to know what's the right size... I'm not sure if I can trust what Crutchfield says...
Thanks!

the 3rd gen bose systems use 4" speakers in the doors and 6x9's in the rear deck. before you do anything do a search on replacing the bose system, alot of people on here have been down this road before and can help you make good decisions on what to use, best way to do it, etc. good luck!

I just picked up a cerwin Vega IT series component set, 4" to put in my Bose - removed '93. I am hoping that all I need to do for fitment is drill new holes.

Why would you have to drill new holes, if they're already 4s in the door?

That's another thing I was gonna ask... Component set in the door, or just 2-ways? Or 3-ways?

I need to know by tomorrow afternoon...

I had a 92 Bose Se, i used a pioneer head unit, dehp630, premier 6x9's in the back and had to custom fit the plastic bose box to fit a 3" two way in the front. The front could have some possibilities, but i decided to use some small 3" for highs and put some custom holes in the black bose plastic. It sounded awsome, the 6x9's were three ways and really thumped, is was only like $400 and was an all day ordeal.

Well I've got some Pioneer 4" and 6x9s my buddy's picking up for me tonight... Those'll be going in this week, along with a JVC deck, Alpine amp, and two different 12" subs... I'll take some pics and post 'em next week...

i would advise against using two different 12s. it might sound like crap. i don't know the the specifics but i remember reading something jmax wrote. maybe he can provide you with more information.

I had to drill my own holes because the bose speaker mounts with three screws instead of four. I also had to do some minimal grinding away of plastic. If you can find those CV components, they are a deal even at $100.

Any reason, or just a general idea that such may be the case? Don't mean to flame here, but I'm just wondering...

I'd love to quote someone but I can't find it right now...
simply said though.
The diffrent subs diffrent response to bass will interfere with eachother, and that is saying they sound the same. If they sound very different, it will sound like you have two different basslines, and it will not sound good.
