It all depends on what they are made for some subs work better in sealed some in ported.
I have a sealed box and it works great. You should check if these subs were intended for a sealed or a ported box.
I tried both and I think that the sealed setup works better, for me.

I does depend on what your subs can take...usually they can ake either, just that ported takes up more space...

In general, a sealed box yields better quality sound while a ported box yields more sound pressure.

sealed vs. ported enclosures.

You have 2 subs, both same brand, specs, etc.
You will find that if you put 1 sub in a...

Sealed enclosure: the sub will be far more capable of reproducing lower frequencies with greater fidelity. The downside is that the sub will require more power to produce the same 'loudness' as a...

Vented/Ported enlosure: these enclosures are better known for their efficiency. It takes less power to achieve the same volume level as in a sealed enclosure. Sound fidelity is affected. While more efficient, ported enclosures do not reproduce as low a frequency as sealed enclosure, and at times the bass produced is not accurate, may be 'colored' with a touch of distortion.

Bottom line: efficiency vs. fidelity

you want more bang for the buck? get a vented box, produces lots of volume w/ little power...

want deep hifi bass? get a sealed box, deeper bass but needs a more power.

nah, i don't know what i'm talking about...
good luck. I got a sealed enclosure myself. takes up less space...
