I just puchased a '91 Maxima GXE, 87K miles and in excellent shape. The digital clock has been working, and all of a sudden it does't work at all. I've checked all the fuses, but they were OK. At the same time I also noticed that when the passenger door locks a noise (thud) can be heard form the door / armrest area. ??? Thanks for any ideas.

probably not related
the thud may just be the lock moving
as for the clock; it's a fairly common problem. The clock just goes bad. Some people have resoldered the capacitors inside it and that has worked. Search in teh 3rd gen forum for clock or something like that
