tinsel leads are hitting eachother...

on my polk midbass speaker, the tinsel leads will hit eachother creating a spark and a static. how can I stop them.

Either bend them so that they can not contact each other or wrap one or both in a little bit of very flexible putty / silicone. Put on a pair of latex gloves and squirt a drop on a finger. Then rub the tinsel leads. Allow it to cure overnight before turning the speakers back on. And only use enough to insulate the wire.
