Howdy All:
I am getting a Pioneer 8200r HU, and a JL Stealthbox with one 10W6 300watt subwoofer wired at 3 1/2 mono. I am curious what amp I should bee looking at?? Should I look at one just for the amp and if so anything in particular?? In searching it seems that the 10W6 has somewhat special requirements??
Also I may end up getting components for the front. Should I maybe just look at a 4 channel or would two amps be a better way to go??
The car is a 96 Nissan Maxima.
Any and all thoughts and opinions would be appreciated. Any recomendations for front components would be great too.
Best regards, tony

The W6 series from JL use a dual 6 ohm voice coil. They can be wired in series - 12ohms or parallel - 3 ohms. This presents a problem when bridging an amp because you need an amp that is 1.5 ohms stereo stable. This nocks most of the affordable 4 channel amps out of the running. A small mono-block sub amp would work well for just the sub, or a more expensive amp designed to be run at low impedance.
i would recommend such an amp as phoenix gold xs2300 , that will give you around 350 watts bridged into 3 1/2 ohms or mtx thunder 302 will be nice too, or rockford fosgate punh 360a2 or other similar amp.
