Front Door Spacers?

hello checking to see what material anyone has used for spacers for the front door speakers..My 6 1/2 speakers are hitting the glass on my 2002 Maxima.

1/2" MDF works for me.

best buy 1" speaker spacers for the front=$12 works well with my cdts.

Here is a pic of mine installed with 1/2" MDF

I used 4 layers of sound deadener. Wood probably would have been better though.
