ok so im doing a system in my friends civic hatch and im looking into what kind of boxes are best suited for use in a hatchback, i think the choice of subs is going to be either 3 10 in subs or 1 12in solobaric L5. So the main question is which box is the best; Ported, Vented, Sealed, or a Bandpass box?

 

It all depends on the speaker (s) you end up choosing.

Best for what purpose? Shattering eardrums or accurate bass? Or any of the infinite possibilities in between. I suggest reading information about speakers and the various enclosure types. Try the Faq's and look on your favorite sub web sites. Then go get a subscription to audioXpress or buy a copy of a good speaker building book. Better yet, visit a real library.
