weird prob with my subs, assistence please
hey guys, i have 2 w6v2s and a 1000/1 powering it. along with a 300/4 and a 300/2 4 6.5's, 6x9s 2 farad monster caps, 1/0 wiring, upgraded alternator, and a yellow top battery.
To get to the point, this is a new setup for me about a week old. Recently when i crank up the stereo, after about 1 minute into the song, the subs completely will die out for a few seconds, hit hard for one beat, then barely play for the entierty of the song. the subs will barely hit or play until the next time i get in my car. the amps arent overheating and i just have no idea whats the problem. Im pretty sure the wiring is fine, the subs work perfect for the first min or so.
Any ideas what could be causing thing??
thanks

i would go back and check your gains on your amp. seems like your setup is clipping and the amp is going into protection mode due to that (not sure but this is my guess). might also want to go back and double-check all connections to see if they're good.

You need to do some debugging. Verify amp has power and voltage level is fairly consistant, above 12.8 volts minimum. Confirm that the amp is getting a good signal. You may want to plug in a small amp next to the sub amp to check the signal. Or extend the RCA's to a 120 volt amp, receiver, etc powered off of house current.
Sometimes the gains need to be down all the way. With a good high power headunit or line driver this would be normal.
But I get the impression that your power wireing may be at fault. Definitely does not sound like a sub problem.

Did you do any debugging yet or are you just chasing wires?

been playing with gains, havent touched the wiring yet cuz i know it works.
Today it was doing the same in the morning, after about 20 min of driving the subs starting hitting normally and were fine for the rest of the day. this is really wierd
