Time for new alt?

Ha,, i think so... the lights on my hu dim and all i don't even have a sub yet (pioneer 6 1/2's)

what size alt should i get? another stock size or up it to a 200 amp or so?

If you have a dead alt is just because of old age or faulty wireing. The factory alternator is fine for at least 2000 watts RMS music.

have you tested it with a voltmeter to see what voltage you get?
