Where to buy carpet?

Since the search doesn't work for me, I'm trying to carpet my box but everywhere I go people are charging me $60-70 to carpet the box for me. They wont sell the carpet to me either. So does anyone know what websites I can get carpet for my box for cheap? I live in san diego, ca if anyone knows what store to buy carpet for cheap, let me know.

I got mine from www.partsexpress.com. Part # is 260-765 (Cabinet Carpet Charcoal). Matches the turnk fairly well on my 97, but it's not perfect. I think it was like $3.90 per yard and the width was something like 54 inches. So I got a 9' x 4 1/2' section of carpet for around $12 if I remember correctly. More than enough to cover any box. Shipping was round $6 so the total came to $18. Might be able to get it cheaper somewhere else, but it was shipped quick, so I was happy.

Why? You had a bad experience?

There's ALWAYS someone who has had a bad experience with ANY company.

I guess if you don't feel like waiting for carpet to be shipped, you could try your local audio shop. They usually have large rolls that they sell by the foot. Thats where I get mine.

Like sadice said, you should really think about what you're gonna need when building a box or just for spares or future projects. I had to pay for two shipments cause I needed other parts after I got the carpet.. The stuff their is pretty cheap too.

www.lowes.com Pick up some MDF at your local Lowe's or Home Depot and go to a car audio shop near you and get some carpet.

For carpeting I always go to my local carpeting store.

The audio shops always seem to not have exacty what I'm looking for. The carpet places have hundreds to choose from. Different colors, varying thicknesses and different patterns and so on and so forth. FWIW, partsexpress is a very reliable company. I've bought many things from them, but I'm always leary about buying something I want to color-match over the Internet.
