Need an amp (FAST)

I just installed my OZ Audio 300watt 6.5 speakers (600 watts in all) into my rear deck and I am very satisfied with the sound. I have just one problem though. The HU I have (JVC KD-SX8350) only spits out 19watts RMS and 50watts max. When I directed all of my power to one speaker the bass was to die for and the quality was orgasmic But when I directed the power to both of my rear deck speakers it sounded as if I had some crappy half-blown bose speaker on it. I need some recommendations on some 2 cahnnel amps that can give me enough power to give the best bass and quality. I don't want to spend too much or get a high watt amp unless I can get my hands on a 4 channel amp that will give my about 800 watts max (200 watts per channel). What type of 4 channel amp can I get for less than 150 (other than a cheap one )?

A 4-channel amp for less than $150 IS a cheap one!!! Sounds like you might want a used amp with your budget!! As far as recommendations go, any amp that puts out the power you need wtih the features you need will do fine.

I second that....check out this www.millionbuy.com page for soundstream amps:

http://www.millionbuy.com/caudio-amp-sos.html

And look at the EGA4220. Its 110x4 at 4 ohms, 220x4 at 2 ohms, or 440x2 at 4 ohms mono. Only $169 and it looks like you might get free shipping.

I just installed an EGA2300 to run my two 10" Type Rs, and I'm happy with the results. Doesn't get too warm, unless I'm really pushing the subs. Sounds great...

dont want to rain on your parade....but the word out is Soundstream will be out of business soon....
which can attest to the fact that their amps are dirt cheap...including the Tarantulas

I have owned a few Soundstreams....and I cant stress enough how great and reliable they are....never had any probles w/ my SA and USA sreies amps....matter a fact they're still around powering family members cars....just food for thought

Soundstream was just recently purchased by another fairly well known car audio company (the name escapes me). But I think the plan is to still manufacture under the name "Soundstream". Don't they have a new series of EXACT amps coming out? Where did you hear that the parent company is actually eliminating the name "Soundstream"? That makes no business sense...why would they buy them in the first place if not for the name?

Yes.... the company was aquired by another.....perhaps i read into it too much...
but the fact that the haven't officially released an '04 lineup.....kept me
skeptic in buying another product from them.....I haven't heard wether they are keeping the name or not.....you are right...it doesnt make sense at all.....Soundstream is among the best...

Good bass with one speaker playing, bad with two playing. Sounds like one speaker is out of phase. But that is pretty common in all fields of audio.

Definitely look for used equipment. Or factory refurbs direct from the factory so that they still have new equipment warranty.

As for soundstream they may as well have gone out of business 4-5 years ago when they started that dumb, "no power ratings" marketing campaign. It was nice to see a company stand behind it's products but I can't beleive they actually beleived that tactic would improve sales. I haven't actually seen in person anything new from soundstream in at least 4-5 years now.

Since all of my power was directed to that one speaker it was able to get enough power for the bass to hit a good note. But when 19 watts RMS are going to a 300w speaker then that should say get a freakin amp so I can feel it's power.

When you faded left to right you didn't send all the power to one speaker. You simply cut all the power from the other speakers. Check the polarity to be on the safe side. Regardless I would still have an amp for all the speakers if it were my car.
