Please help. Friends 95 maxima se with standard radio (not bose). How do you replace the rear speakers? We know you have to take the top portion of the back seat out, or atleast move it so you can get the top deck out.
BUT: Where are the screws exactly in the trunk the take the seats out? only 4 correct? Which clips do you have to undo? once the top of the back seat is tilted, the top part should slide out right? And you can unscrew the speakers, right?

This info should be as well explained as possible, clarity is important, haha, dont wanna mess nothing up.
Thanx. BYE

You asked how to remove the back seat. And that was the answer you got, so I don't understand how these posts didn't help you? Clarify your question and you'll get a better answer.

Sorry man, i made a mistake, i thought this was another post i had, it asked about the fitting of 6 3/4 oversized speakers into stock 6.5 spots. I think i am either gonna fab up some mounts, or drill new holes, any recommendations?

Did you try to fit the speakers already? Cause the maxima is supposed to have 6 3/4" speakers. My MB Quarts were 6.5 inch but they fit perfect.
Are your speakers too small for the stock locations or too large?

They are 6.5s, oversized POLK DX6. IM me on AIM = (LBRSJA). my friend got these new for 80 bucks, they are like 180 new in store. Maybe he should sell them and put 6.5 kickers in rear for bass, and have his polk momo's components in front doo the clear stuff?

I didn't reply because I left work.

I have MB Quart components in the front and MB Quart Coaxials in the back. I have the fronts playing highs and midrange and I have the rears playing only lower midrange and bass and then my subs play the really low stuff.
High pass crossover to the fronts, Low pass crossover to the rears and the subs.

You can't really hear the highs of the rear speakers anyway, so just use the fronts for that. Besides it give a better sound stage, the sound is supposed to be directed to the front and the rears speakers are for rear fill.
If you can fit the speakers in the rear then go for it, but it might be too much of a hassel.

It's always easy to fit smaller speakers in a larger opening, but not larger speakers in a smaller opening
