stereo problem...again

For reference I have a 1996 Se with the Bose system. Anyways, last summer my head unit went out completely so I bought another used one off a Maxima.org member. Installed it, and it has worked great, until last week. I went to work, stereo working fine. Come out, start the car up and stereo works fine. Take the cd out and try to put a new one back in, and it wont take it. So I try the radio, which works fine for about 2 minutes at which point it starts clicking off and on every 5 seconds or so. I use the word clicking because there is literally a clicking noise coming out of the passenger side kick panel, like a switch turning on and off. And from now on when I start my car the stereo works for about 5 seconds then starts clicking on and off for another 10 seconds then totally shuts off. Also, the cd player will not take cd’s at all. HEWP! Any ideas?
Thanks

that clicking sound is a relay. that's where they're located. maybe you have a bad relay?

I didn't have a clicking noise coming out of the passenger panel, but I DID have a clicking noise coming from the headunit for about 10secs every time I started the car. It was the stupid autoreverse mechanism thinking there was a tape in it (when there really wasn't). Eventually my CD player wouldn't read burned CDs, then it wouldn't read regular CDs, then it wouldn't do jack.

So I bought an Alpine...
