Well i have tried the scosche dash kit with pocket and there is a gap in between the pocket and my head unit. i also tried an american international dash kit which i got form best buy and that wasnt even close to fitting. i couldnt even put my deck in with that kit installed. i think the only kit left to try is the metra one. will that one fit with my headunit? what have you guys been using for dash kits in 4th gen maximas?

I used the Metra 99-7417 on my 97. It recesses the radio more and comes with its own trim ring to take up the gaps. It looks much better than what you have, IMHO.

 

I actually replaced my HU 2 days ago with a Panasonic MP3 player.

The gap is there because the stock pocket under the radio has a lip that sticks up at the top.

To fix this, I just took the pocket out and flipped it over. The bottom doesn't have a lip.

Still a tiny gap but looks much better.
