let me try to clarify

i have 6 speaker wires (one coming from each speaker which needs to plug into the headunit)... my older headunit had 6 outputs (1 for each speaker)... however this headunit im putting in only has 2 outputs - how would i wire this to make all 6 speakers work on 2 outputs from the headunit

ghetto wire it with "Y" adapters...or the best way which is to use an active crossover

I agree with the crossover option. But for future reference.. your referring to preOuts, not speakers Inputs.
