Cheap neon kit install

I have this cheap neon kit that I want to mount below the front dash on the driver and passenger sides, it connects to the cigarette lighter, but I'm already using that for my laser detector. I want to hard wire this so when I turn on the car, (and maybe throw in a switch somewhere),the lights come on. Can I hardwire this to the fuse box somewhere w/o ruining the electrical system? I need some advice on this, as I don't want to experiment. I have a '97 SE if that helps at all.

Cut off the cigarette lighter ends, then connect each plain (non-stripe) wire together, crimp on a ring terminal, and ground them. Then connect the striped wires together, and tap them into the red or red/yellow wire at the ignition harness. The ignition harness wires change color at a plug. The colors I gave you show both sides of the plug. Make sure you fuse the (+) wire...

Do yourself a favor. Don't put neon's in the car, outside of the car, under the car, or anywhere close to your car. This is not TF&TF.Neons=Uncle Ben's

You could connect it to your cig lighter and put the switch in the ashtray. Be creative, if you plan on trading in the car try not to cut any holes that are easily seen. Otherwise go for it. I've got neons in all 4 footwells and in the ski hole for my sub. It's mostly for car shows, but I think that if you want to have them on all the time that's cool to. I mean I also have strobes in the engine bay, of course those stay off unless the hoods up. If you need any help feel free to e-mail me at "jeetkunedo782000@yahoo.com" Peace!
