well i'm not sure about everyone else, but my spare tire rides with me behind the driver's seat. you have to sacrifice something out of your trunk because i have a 12 cubic foot box, amps, eq's, and multiple other goodies all within the trunk of my car

Good Lord that's a huge box!

I'm about to do a custom trunk with both amps located in the wheel well, so no more spare for me.

Well custom is just that, so some very custom setups may leave room for the spare, but many do not. My last ride used the spare tire well so I kept the spare in my back seat sometimes (car was a POS so I didn't care). I always planned to get a roof rack with a big carrier to keep the spare in there, but never got around to it.

Many do go without a spare tire and bring fix-a-flat and a AAA card with them wherever they go.

Whenever (if...) I get around to doing a "custom" sub/amp rack install in my MAX, I will keep the spare tire....prolly build 2 enclosures around the rear corners of the vehicle. I wouldn't sacrifice the spare in a daily driver again.

12 ft 3 box? IN a Max? Got pics? What subs?

how much does the spare tire/jack weigh combined? im thinking about taking that out of my maxima to save some weight due to my box. i always carry fix-a-flat though.

Fix a flat doesn't help a flat tire regain air pressure. Nor does it help a blow-out. Then again when it was just for sports ***** the crud never worked for more than about 15 minutes anyway. Custom can definitely keep the spare in place.

I've got a bandpass box, two amps and a cap; with 1/2" mdf for the trunk floor. I still have the spare tire though. I've got a tool kit in a custom panel that has all the tools I need to remove the box, amps and cap. Granted it will take 4x as long to replace a flat, but I still have the spare. I've used fix a flat and I know the 350Z comes with it but I think it sucks. Gotta have the donut baby!
