Mounting tweeters

I ordered CDT Audio CL-61 components and i'm wondering where to mount the tweeters on a 4th gen... where is the best spot for the most direct way at the driver?

One friend of mine says to flush mount it up on the dash so the sound is bounced off the windshield... another one says to try to aim it from the A Pillar, but that may be difficult or very dependant on the mounts that come with the speakers...

i can't make up my mind... please post pics if you have em

I flush mounted mine directly in front of the door handles. I have swivel mount Clarion tweeters and it makes a hell of a difference if you didn't have tweeters previously. I wish I had pics to show you but my camera is a piece of poop and I'm waiting to buy a new one.

I put my tweeters where the stock BOSE ones would go...but, I had to epoxy them in place b/c the BOSE tweeters are screwed in.

hope this helps.

Put them right where the Bose Tweets are....With my focals i had to cut the hole bigger, but i cut it so they fit sung. They look sweet with the flush mounts that say focal on the edge. They can also blast your ears off if u want. They also look stock there like they don't stick out funny or look weird. Bose put them there, my guess is that they put them there for a reason. That is the best spot.

...but good luck getting the stock Bose tweeters unscrewed from their mounts; between the screw & the superglue they used to secure those bishes, it took some time to get them off.

no epoxy here, just mounting tape...they sound super-groovy.

mine had a big splot of krazyglue around the screw, and seemed like the tweeters were also glued to the mounts....or maybe i'm getting old & can't screw like i used to.

my tweets had BOTH a screw and glue...came off with no issue.
now, the screws in the head unit, that's a different story!

Mine are directly to the right of the door handles on the door panel. Sounds good to me but I've never really heard tweeters mounted in pillars or dash so I really have no comparison.
