have a few Q's; stock bose + sub and a few others
i have a 96 max se with the stock bose system in it right now. i have a sub that i want to put in and im going to get an alpine deck with a built in amp, but i want to keep the stock bose speakers, is this possible? what kind of converters will i need and where can i get them? i wont be doing the install ym selft because i dont know the first thing about this, will any local car audio installer know what to do with the converters? thanks.
basically splice rca's and solder them into the input wires that go to the bose amps that feed it signal. i believe you can figure out whats what based on the wiring harness you have to buy. the corresponding speaker leads on the harness are what gives the signal to the bose speakers.
Nismo is saying use the pre outs on your aftermarket stereo as the signal to your bose amps and speakers. Im sure this works but I wonder how it sounds. If it sounds good then awsome. I once used a Sony deck with a Peripheral Bose converter and got some interference, the high pitched whine through the speakers. A friend of mine has the same converter with the same noise. Needless to say this is no good. There is another quality (and pricey) converter, the AudioLink PD-4. Id try the pre out thing though because its cheap and it probly works great.
