speakers pop when I change the station

I still have the stock bose speakers except fot the tweeters and I have an Alpine HU and a system in the trunk. It drives me nuts that the speakers pop when I change the stations. I think the speakers we re-run w/ different wires but I cant remember. I aslo remember someone telling me I need a piece that connects in the back of my HU that will make it stop that was around $50. What can I do?

thats messed up, id guess checking something with the antenna wiring or the speaker wiring, or possibly both, I've never heard of this before.

If you radio is hooked directly to the bose amps in the doors(if you had bose), I would guess that you could be overdriving the signal going to the speakers. That could cause it. just a guess.

the signal turns off when u change stations. the amps shut off then back on, if you could wire in a remote wire that connects somewhere else that might help

I have same thing, I think its because the bose amps run at 1 omh while the HU runs at 4 omh.

Absolutely right. Bose system has different Ohm rating then other brands. You'll have to bypass your amps no matter what you want to try. Or get the special converter. There is a tread about it. Try to find it. That guy knows what type of converter you need.

thats not why it pops. the bose speakers are self amplified, one of the harnesses runs to the bose amps, and it powers them up, when we change stations and what not, the aftermarket head unit stops sending the signal to the turn on lead for the bose amps, when it turns back on u get a pop

figure out what wire is the turn on wire on the small harness from the bose, and set it up with a full time power source, so the amps stay on even when ur changing stations, or just get rid of the bose im not 100% sure my way will work, but its the most logical
