What is the proper way to hook tweeters into my radio? I heard you should not just tie them into the front speakers. I am mounting them on the door like the 97+ Max's. Thanks for any help...

Did they come with crossovers or caps to protect them from bass? If so you can certainly add them to the existing front speakers. You just need to splice them in witht he existing speaker wiring and mount them where you wish.

If you don't ahve a crossover for them then you will need to buy one or build your own. I recommend a high pass frequency point of 6-10 kHz.

This site will show you a table on what value capacitor to use inline with the positive lead of your tweeter to give you the high pass crossover point. Diagram on the left...

OK, well I did not decide on a tweeter yet, but was think of a set of Infinty's. Now that I know what is involved, I will look for something with crossovers. Any other suggestions?

I could set you up with a nice set of CDT Audio tweeters with crossovers. They will cost you $130 shipped for the 3/4" silk dome models or $170 for the 1" silk or titanium dome models.

That is a bit more than I wanted to spend. My audio compenents are not that great (see sig), but I am happy with the sound. I was looking at these on Crutchfield:

Polk EX2500

Pioneer TS-T110

Kenwood KFC-T203 Tweeters
http://www.crutchfield.com/cgi-bin/S...FCT203&o=M&a=0

The price seems good for my needs and specifications seem in line with my HU and component speakers...

OK I looked at those and though the Polk seem to be the better ones the Pioneers are the only ones that come with an inline crossover. If you get the others you will have to build your own crossover to use them.....I wouldn't recommend the Kenwood ones those PPTA tweeters tend to be very bright sounding.
