you will have to have two custom sub enclosures made fit onn each side of the trunk.....and they will have to stick out a good bit...I have two 12's in my trunk and trunk space is an issue and I still have decent space if you want all trunk space you will need to make and encloure out of your spare tire well and it can hold only one sub....or you will just have to get one sub in a box an 8" or a 10" put good power to it and it will sound good..

look at the big show us your trunk thread and see what every body else is doing..

I know there is another thread on this, but will post a reply to your question. How much output do you want to have from your subs? You can get pretty good output from a single 12" woofer if it is powered correctly, and in the proper enclosure. I only bring this up because you brought up trunk space, something that is very important to me. I am running a single 12" Solobaric with a KX600.1 amplifier that is rated at 600 watts RMS. I have it bolted down in the corner of the trunk. I think that the output on it is pretty strong, can vibrate my sideview mirrors and my seats. I do not usually push my system to its limits though. I am actually going to go with a 10" woofer made by TC Sounds from SoundSplinter as well as get rid of the VCR to gain more room in my trunk.

You also have to watch out for the trunk hinges.

I am actually going to put a TC Sounds 10" sub from SoundSplinter in the same space that the Solobaric is in now. That along with getting rid of the VCR will give me some more trunk space (I will use a DVD player in side the car instead) . My Kicker is in a .88 enclosure, I will use a .5 cubic foot enclosure with the 10.

subs on the side of the insdide of the trunk

I was hoping that the subs won't stick out substantially because I want it to look clean and nice. Kromer Radio in Toronto said they woud build the boxes for $600, one on each side and that didn't include how much they would charge for the amp. I was hopin gto find someone that can do enclosures cheaper. Any ideas?

good god yes it can be done cheaper. you need to decide what type of box you want. im assuming sealed because they take up less space. also what subs are you getting?

I think that the Solobaric provides good SQ, and very nice output from the small enclosure. I was thinking of a 12" from TC Sounds earlier, it is based on their TC9 model and has an Xmax of 24.2mm . In comparison the Solobaric I have has a slightly bigger cone surface, but only has an Xmax 12.7mm or so. I believe that the TC Sounds sub will have more output and better SQ than the Solobaric in the same size enclosure (It can actually go in a .75 cubic foot enclosure). I am leaning more towards the TC2+ 10" (to gain more trunk space), this sub is supposed play very clean and has an Xmax of 20mm. If this 10" can come anywhere close to my Solobaric in output I will happy, I know for SQ purposes it will beat the Solo.

get the stealth sub/box combo from JL. It includes a 10inch sub with a stealth enclosure near the side of the wheel. Costs around 200-300.
