i never used components before. 1 lil question.

I've also heard that putting the tweeters in the speaker location is great for imaging too...I was lazy, and simply swapped out my old tweets for the new ones -- I glued the new ones one because they didn't have a screw hole.
hope this helps.

i put my tweets in the AC vents. It's ghetto but the imaging is perfect. Makes other cars with tweets in the pillars sound like garbage .Since i have a GXE there is no factory tweeter position so it's difficult

Using the factory location is easiest. My experience with components is the closer to the woofer the tweeter is, the better it sounds. I used the small black triangular piece behind the side mirrors. Again this is not ideal but helps with imaging.
alright ive gotta question that co incides with this. has anyone here(3rd gen especially) had an issue with the tweeter not fitting when mousting it in the door about 4 inches above the stock location? ive been messing with placement prior to cutting a hole in my door and am noticing that it almost doenst look like the tweeter would not fit snugly, and may stick out a couple centimeters. also, ive got the alpine type x component set and the crossovers are thick bastards as well, i was originally planning on mouting these behind the door panel too but i swear theres no way these things are fit.
i put mine in the sail panel. they were too deep to put them on the door panel next to the handle, and i don't like them in the a pillars (i think they're too far away there). they were also too deep to flush mount in the sail panel, so i surface mounted them. i don't think they look too bad though:

What about aluminum/titanium tweeters? Where would be the best plave to mount those considering they are off-axis....would you point them away from you and the passengers?
well the reason i was aking is because i like to leave it looking factory so i don't temp anyone to break in. but if it sounds a lot better somewhere else then i will change the location. like i but to bose speaker grills back on in the rear.
with the woofer and tweeter divided, its supposed to allow each to perform better, i think..cause each one can be setup with xovers so they only recieve the frequencies they're supposed to respond to..i guess..
