Pioneer CD changer

When I bought my max it had a 12-disc changer already installed. I have never been able to use it though because I can't get the display to come on. There is power to the unit because it will load the CD's but when I hit the power button on the display, nothing. Is my display just shot? Anyone have any ideas?

Is this an rf cd changer? Nissan put a 12 disc pioneer in my car when my dad bought it. The pos crapped out after 2 years. My display is just black.

Yes it is. Sounds like mine did the same thing. Did you fix yours or just forget about it?

What happened is that the changer crapped out after 2 years. Nissan refused to fix it, so we took it to a shop and they fixed the changer. They said an IC chip went bad. Called up Nissan and yelled at them, they gave us a $100 credit towards our local dealership to use for parts or maintainance/repairs.

Six months later, the pos crapped out again. The shop that fixed it had only a 30 day warranty, so my dad wasn't in the mood to have it fixed. I just took it appart and ejected the cds. I remember the changer itself never responded to the eject when it was direclty powered without the control plugged in. Now I look at the control and the screen is black. Dont know what caused that.

Its a pioneer CDX-1257 if anyone is wondering. I thought I was the only one who got stuck with this pos I'm in the process of ripping out the bose and putting my own stereo system in. When I get to it, all the wiring from the pioneer is comming out.
