I think I have a BLOWN/BROKEN DIAMOND M6???

Well I built a new enclosure and wanted my sub inverted this time. After everything was hooked up I noticed a WEIRD baffled sound comming from the sub.

FYI- Enclosure is 100% sealed perfectly and even has rubberized lining inside.

Here is a video of the noise: Video

Does anyone know what is going on with my sub??? I'm really ****ed at this issue.

Thanks

dude you are out of control.

invert the wires? do you mean reverse the polarity? that has nothing to do with noise.

the surround is either hitting the MDF or there is an air leak around the mounting location.

Inverse the polarity, that's what i meant. I've never inverted a sub before but i know that you have to reverse the polarity.

The sub looks like it is being sucked in instead of pushed out. Reverse the wires and see if that works.

EDIT:
is this the first time you've installed this sub? or is it the same sub now having problems, if it's a brand new install, I have your answer...

Take the sub back out of the enclosure, on the back of the sub magnet is a clear sticket that says "remove before installing"

remove this sticker, and let the air flow through the hole it was covering up.

this should clear things up.

if the sub was working before, I have no clue

BTW, what are you powering them with?

i also agree that it looks like its sucking in instead of pusshing out. that will create that sound. but check to make sure that the hole you cut is big enough. the stencil for the hole that came with the speakers is gonna be too smallyou need the hole to be about 1/4 inch away from the rubber so it has room to flex and bounce

I will check on the reversing wires....

As for the sound...I think it may be hitting the mdf, I will check it out asap.

and no this sub is not new, I had used it in a different enclosure.

Thanks for the tips guys

what size is that M6?

I had two M6 10's, and they were to heavy for my '03

the rear end was squatting, I had to take them out and put in one CM3 10'
