Getting rid of Bose System?

My bose HU is really messed up. It skips CD's nonstop (I can be driving on a flat surface with a brand new CD and it will skip out of nowhere, I've cleaned it and still no change) and will sometimes not play the CD and spit it out or won't eject the CD. It is doing these things more frequently and I am beginning to think I need to get a new Unit. It is the most frustrating thing ever.

Anyhow, if I do get rid of the Bose HU do I need to get new speakers also? What is a good way to go through with this?

I love the Bose and I don't plan on getting subs. But it seems like getting a different unit is the only way to go.

So I just want to know any complications that may arise.

just get a new unit, and install it, use rca plugs from the outs of the headunit into the speaker wire harness of the aftermarket harness, cut and splice them in.

the best way is to get the pac adaptor to add a new HU, you just plug that puppy in and your set, no wire splice etc etc.

will this really work? I am replacing my head unit this week and it will be a few weeks before i can afford the speakers i want so i was going to use the pac($50) or the Scosche FAI-3A($20)converter,but if i can just wire in rca's that would save me a few bucks

The PAC adaptor is in no way needed. The way Nismos explained ultimately does the same thing. Just costs about $48 less.
