McIntosh Car Amps

anyone ever heard Mcintosh car amps in action? I checked their website and they boast a 0.005% THD rate!

i had an old one

it was like 15 years old and it sounded incredible. These amps are rare and overpriced, i saw the amp i had on ebay for almost $1000. Mcintosh makes world class products, most of the stuff is hand made/tested.

But yes, McIntosh is in a very exclusive league, some of the best money can buy

I don't know if I would go so far as to call it overpriced...expensive as he11, though. Mcintosh have been making electronics forever. They make extremely high quality stuff and their signature backlit dual power meters are cool beyond belief.

If you want a thumping SPL vehicle there are many better choices, but for SQ they are in very elite company. Of the companies out, only a few (Brax, Sinfoni, TRU Copper series, etc.) are comparable.

Chances are the amp will outlive you and if it doesn't their customer support and warranty service is unparalled.

dont nescessarily have to be a SQ competitor, some people are serious audiophiles, know what to shop for, want the best and are willing to pay
