Rubber Surround

I've been wanting to upgrade my subs for a while, and was at Best Buy earlier and saw these http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage....1&type=product
I noticed they have a huge rubber surround, how does this affect their sound? Is it good? Is it bad?

apparently it doesnt affect their sound when going to different surround types. however, with such a huge surround like that you lose SD which is cone area. but you can make that up i hear by having ALOT of excursion. i would not recommend that woofer at all. also rubber surrounds are less easy to break when installing.

The size of the surround should be determined by the driver's excursion capabilities. This driver's xmax is .6" (15mm). A surround of that size is just overkill or just there for looks.

I agree with slickrick, the sub is all flash. You can do a lot better for the same price or less.
