Bose Problems

I'm sure this has been brought up before but I wasn't able to find an answer in the FAQ's. I have an '03 with 40,000 miles and now my bose is starting to act up. Whenever I play CD's the left speakers stop working. Any chance of getting the dealer to replace/fix it? What do you all recommend? I'd like to keep the stock look of the head unit. Thanks in advance for the help.

Find a head-unit manufactured after Oct 2002. Anyway..find the manufacure date of the latest date on the TSB and buy one made AFTER the latest date. I bought one with a Nov 2002 Manufacture (out of a 2003 SE) date (not refurbished thank you) and all is good...so far...knock on wood.

Good luck!

Find NTB03-017 at this link.

EXACT same thing happened to me 2 weeks ago. I'm still waiting for my new head unit to come in at the dealer. Luckily mine was still covered under warranty. There is a TSB for it, but it won't do you any good b/c you're over 36K. Either pay up for a new one at the dealer, or look around the org or ebay for a used one.

Where can you get the clarion units? And how much do they run compared to the stock Bose we have?

One other option is to ship it off and have it repaired. $150-$225 avg to get it refurbished.

Don't buy new...way too costly. Try to locate one that has been removed. Alot of people put aftermarket stereos in and have these setting around. Post want ads etc...

After replacing the headunit 4 times, I was past my warranty when this headunit started acting up. I pulled it and had it shipped to clarion. They repaired it I havent had any problems with it since. If I recall correctly it cost me 183.75. I had Nissan reinstall it so I could have a 12 month warranty.
