Replacing BOSE HU for an aftermarket HU

I'm a noob in the sound audio department... finally the Stock BOSE HU broke down on me.... i'm thinking bout gettin an aftermarket one... not sure what to get or what brand to get. lookin' to spend around 100-150 (TOTAL) on the new HU and wires... i want to keep the stock BOSE system cuz i heard it sound even better with the aftermarket HU rather than the BOSE HU... if that's true.. i'm jus gonna get a new aftermarket HU.. (can i do that?)

now if i do.... do that... then i need some opinions on what HU i should get in that price range... lookin' for something that will sound good replacing the BOSE... any help on my desperation to get this HU problem fixed will be appreciated!

your gonna have to get an adapter so that itll work properly with the bose amplifiers and speakers, youll need something called a PAC OEM

you going to need to save a little more cause the pac +the wireing harness + intall kit will be $100 so that only leaves 50 bucks for a radio so save a little more
or you might want to see about just having your bose repaired.

I agree, you definately need to save a bit more. If your expecting better sound out of your stock speakers you will definately not achieve this by going with a cheap radio.

Although an adaptor is NOT needed to bypass the Bose system. This is a common misconception that alot of people have.

Simply tap male RCA ends onto the speaker leads of the wire harness and plug into the preout section of the aftermarket HU.

Would this still work if you were going to add an amp and subs? Do tell!

Provided that you have three sets of preouts, yes. If not then a Y adaptor would be needed....
