MDF 12” Sub Enclosure/SPL Contest/Pics!!

I bought this Audiobahn bass driver off ebay it’s a pre-amp aka universal amplifier gain can control input sensitivity to any amp up to 8 volts of output. I mounted the three **** remote on my center console it controls level, bass boost from 40hz to 200hz, and it has Q-control.
I mounted in the driver’s side trunk pocket....

Me and a buddy of mine are going to start building custom and pre-fab style subwoofer boxes sealed and ported made out of Ύ” MDF (Medium Density Fiberboard).

We built this ported subwoofer enclosure in 3 hours it’s made of Ύ” MDF(Medium Density Fiberboard) and is 34 ½ ” wide, 13 ½” high, and 13 ½ ” deep, the port is 10” wide, 10” deep and 3” high, tuned to 45hz, the internal volume is 2.75 cubic feet, we inverted the sub to show off the nice chrome basket and magnet. This box was built for my car so it is perfect for a Maxima’s trunk (a box like this we will sell for $125.00 plus shipping).

I bought a 12” DVC AUDIO FONICS Digital Max SPL Subwoofer off of Ebay
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...=STRK:MEAFB:IT

This setup will be for SPL contests only my 2 Xtant 12’s will be my daily subs.

This was my very 1st time trying the bass contest at a show.

I hit 135.8 DB and placed 3rd in the 0”-15” Subwoofer class in the SPL contest.

Beutiful car man. And not bad of a DB for only one sub. What amp did you use to push it during the competition?

the meter was an Audio Control
a guy sat in my passenger seat and he put the mic on the floor
this was local event
normal playing for us regular people and the big boys used burps
no SPL slip they had a larger digital display for every one standing around to see
the highest was 158.9 a Memphis demo van

That's how the last one I went to was setup. Of course it was raining off and on that day. So the sound competition was pushed back 2 times. And the car-club that was hosting turned it into a mess. They couldn't make up their minds if they still wanted to do it. At the last moment they said yeah, and the guys at Mobile FX had to run all the stuff back down. And forgot the cd. So we used our own.

I didn't do to bad. 147.6. And that was 2 RF 12" Punch Z's, in 2 seperate sealed boxes. And a Memphis 500 D with 500 x1 at 2 ohm, and 250 x2 at 4 ohm. I still had my truck setup for SQ, with the subs having it's own channel. It got me 3rd in the 0-500 watt class.

Mobile FX's demo car with Memphis setup blew 2 or 3 subs the week before. So it didn't play.
