4th Gen Non-Bose to Bose

I'm sure there's a post on this, but since I can't search...

The 5th Gen Bose FAQ says that the Bose car has an entirely different wiring harness. Is this also true for the 4th Gen? If this is true, do people sell this harness when they get rid of their factory Bose system? My logic here is, if I went aftermarket, I'd still have to tear the car apart for the amp wiring anyway, and I don't want the extra expense vs. the Bose system, not mention that the Bose increases resale vs. aftermarket. (I've heard it, and it's "Good enough")
