hey this maybe a dumb question, but i just bout a 2004 maxima and iheard that you can swap out the head unit with an after market. if this is true where can i find the kit and harness for my ride? any help would be much appreciated. thanks. 2004maxima

 

You will need to go to autotoys.com or a similar site to find the Metra dash kit (~$80). That will allow you to install an aftermarket HU. I recomend also looking at the Pac SWI-X steering wheel converter to allow you to retain the steering wheel controls(~$50). As far as a wiring harness there is one on autotoys.com (~$9). You will also need an antenna adapter(~$9)!

I had a professional place install the HU and speakers. I found out that you will have to get adapters for the speakers to fit in the door. The 6.5" speakers will not simply replace the old speakers. I had the installers build the necessary adapter plates. I don't know of any online yet. I really recomend having a pro do this job. It's a lot of work if you do it on your own and don't find all the necessary parts.
