Got new amp... sub sounds much worse

So I had a 300 watt rms (bridged) kenwood amp powering my 400 rms audiobahn aw1251t 12" sub. I decided to get a new amplifier (audiobahn a8002t) and run the sub off only one channel. So I do this and now the sub sounds MUCH quiter. The sub has dual 4 ohm voice coils and is wired to play at 2 ohms. The amp puts out 400 rms per channel at 2 ohms. Anybody know what the problem could be?

A. could be phasing

B. gains?

C. no offense, but Audiobahn isn't the best equiptment out there.

D. Somehow "miswired"
