4 gauge wiring kit to power 400 watt RMS?

I'm don't have very much knowledge on ICE, my friends say I do thought, but I just bought a new amp and it comes with a 4 gauge wiring kit. I have 8 gauge wiring in there now, I have about 400 watts RMS. I was wondering if I should go ahead and put the 4 gauge in there? It won't hurt anything if the gauge is too small will it? Please reaply.

yes it will hurt if the gauge is too small...but its ok if its too big. i suggest putting the 4 gauge in if you ever plan on upgrading or adding an amp. otherwise the 8 is fine for 400 watts rms.

go with the 4 ga when you upgrade. The 400w does finr with 8ga.

Go 4 ga with 800w + total RMS
