I don't know much about subs and amps but i knew what i wanted. i got a JL Audio 12w6v2 sub and the Jl Audio 500/1 amp. I have a friend that is going to help me and teach me about the system. He was asking me if i wanted a ported or sealed box. On JL's site they use a sealed box for the 12w6v2. I am leaning towards that. Is there any reason i should get a ported box. I just want something that will hit good and sound clean. I don't think I'll ever compete. I've heard JL's before and have loved them ever since. Any suggestions would be very helpful

Use sealed for best sound quality.

 

Always go ported if you have the space.

If the sub can be in a ported box, do it.
